Surfed at Windansea - 20071113

After dropping off the boys at school, I made for the reefs in La Jolla. I knew there was no swell, but I had to get wet before driving from San Diego to Los Angeles. T'was a sunny, warm, calm morning as I pulled into the lot overlooking Windansea, playing a surf music disc I had aquired from Starbucks this Summer (only tune missing on the CD is 'Wipeout').

The waves were running nearly head-high and only two others were out. Good enough for me. And, you could not beat the conditions.

I hate wearing a full suit but I knew the water was cool and I do not retain heat like I did forty pounds ago, so applied my 3-2 and booties and hit it.

I had a fun session, with the waves pushing harder than they looked and no crowd to haggle with. I had a little tuber on my first wave, pictured, and fun lefts that held up for some turns.
